Preserved at the North West Museum of Road Transport, St. Helens. Dsplayed in 'ex-service' condition, this Punch was used by the Southport & Birkdale Tramway Company whose name was found, pencilled within. Manufactured by the McCoye company on behalf of Williamsons in approx 1903/4, this machine was recovered from beneath a garden shed at a property formerly owned by the Williamson family. It is fully operative (but has a 'lazy' bell striker). It's casing is worn, but proud.

I look forward to seeing that on my next visit. I have machine number 3597 (believed to be possibly ex-York) and I have been trying to find otu more about it. I guess that will make it pre-1903 as your machine is 5030, unless separate ranges were allocated to sub-contracted machines.
