Available by special arrangement only at the North West Museum of Road Transport, St. Helens. Manufactured out of folded, mild steel and believed to be the earliest box type ticket punch surviving in the United Kingdom, this punch is still operable with great care. Donated by Control Systems in memory of the former staff of the Bell Punch company, it is believed to have seen use on horse buses in London. Withdrawn from use in the early 1900's, it survived in the safe at Uxbridge until the 1980's. | |
