During the late 1940's, Bell Punch Salesmen required the factory to produce a sample machine with substantial areas of the outer casing removed - so that they could demonstrate the mechanism in action to prospective customers. This was accomplished by containing the working mechanisms within 'perspex' encasement to allow all working parts to be seen.

The sample was donated to the Museum of Fare Collection project in memory of the former employees of the Bell Punch Company, upon the closure of the works in Uxbridge. It may be examined by arrangement at the North West Museum of Road Transport, St. Helens.
