About Me

I've been interested in buses since about 1952 and I was always fascinated by the ticket machines used by Southdown. I used to catch the Route 64 from Chichester, which was an early omo route and had recently received Leyland Tiger Cub/Duple Nudd vehicles, using the motorised Setright Speed. I was always desperate to see the controls of this machine.

I did own battered Setright Speed, TIM and Ultimate machines but I dumped them some years ago unfortunately. I don't know if old machines are still available .

I am retired and I'm also very interested in railways and aircraft of the 1940-1960 period

About Me

Retired bus driver of fifty years. Always been interested in transport (trains, buses, aircraft, ships) with a preference for steam trains. Modern transport doesn't interest me at all - dead boring and mostly awful to travel in. Badge no's down the years have been :- T28381, N42552, N58633, EE54766, EE45131 and KK60043. From trolleybuses to Firstjunk ! Have a small collection of ticket machines consisting of :- Bellgraphic, Setright Mk 1 & Mk 2, Bell Punch, Williamson Punch, Belfast Corporation short range TIM and an LT Gibson, the last of which I would like to restore to its 1960s consition if possible. Been looking for a Willebrew machine for years but no luck.

About Me

You may know me better under my e-bay call sign 'ticketronic'.  I specialise in the overhaul and repair of Gibson machines - conversions to date format undertaken and I offer a handle replacement service - I also stock an extensive spare parts range for Setright SMB equipment including the elusive BSW fasteners. ticketronic@btinternet.com

Have been collecting for nearly 40 years - definite soft spot for the rare and unusual (haven't we all!) - so far Gibsons from Accrington and WBUDC; an SMA /Trambus, a pre-war long range TIM and an East Kent Setright have eluded me but otherwise lack of storage space has now curtailed the collecting bug.  Long term projects include production of a small batch of brand new SMB Mk1s and a history of the Gibson.

Enjoy corresponding with like minded enthusiasts and swapping stock lists although still compiling mine!
