below the machine number there is a sliding panel to access the ink roller. remember that these were inked regularly and complete dis-assembly would be impractical. Plus one such panel was featured on the prototypes (numbered 1-50). Many changes were made from the first fifty to the later production model. this was not one. The hatch is even in the same place. Just open the panel and ink there. Although it is interesting to see the internal components.
they are a truly superb ticket machine.A credit to LONDON TRANSPORT and the designer?.................................I think not!!....................for if they were, then re inking would not be so difficult as this.
I recently bought a TIM ticket machine, and all you do to re ink that is slide the cover back and apply ink to the roller, so why does this design ensure the most basic maintenance is rendered as exquisitely difficult as possible?
The TIM machines were surely a more cost effective unit when in service, due to re inking being a far less complicated procedure.
What utter rubbish the Gibson machines are...................my three years old Niece could design better than that, and as for the prices that they sell for, then all I can say is that there are too many people whose financial means outweigh their mental capacity, convincing me once and for all that the majority of people in this country should not even be allowed out,, let alone given the right to vote!

a long time ago i use to buy ticket machines from bus ralleys all over the country but now im an getting almost old enought for my bus pass but is good to see the innett carry on with the very good work godbless! ian the gek?.
