The inventor of the T.I.M ticket machine Frank Langdon was previously a designer of postal franking machines and the T.I.M was perfect for this application and was used by many post offices around the world.
Frank Langdon had worked with other postal franking machines for the Neopost Co (Note the Roneo connection with the issued ticket ).

The postage labels issued this way were considerably narrower than ordinary TIM tickets (as can be seen from the illustration). Red ink was used.
