I should explain, LCBS like LT before them used the stats counter to track how many fares of certain values had been sold. At Hertford garage two lists were kept of the weekly stats settings. There was 30 machines for bus use, (single-deck RF OMO) and 15 for use on Green Line coaches, (RMC & RCL). S506 was a bus machine and machines were moved around the garages to avoid problems with fraud. By the way it was S433 which S506 replaced. Must get some more powerful specs. I was once told by Adrian Flint at ECOC that when LCBS finished with the Setrights they went to Eastern Counties and South Wales Transport. I have machine S369 and that also has the shillings knob modification. I acquired it from an operator in Suffolk who had acquired it from ECOC.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the correction on delivery dates and now amended, interesting to find out some history on this machine and its later use with E.C.O.C,unfortunatly this machine was sold on a while back, also out of interest why did S449 need replacing ?
If this is machine S506 it was used at Hertford garage week commencing 10.5.71 where it replaced S449. I note that the knurled knob has been changed to a larger type which indicates that the machine was one of those which passed to Eastern Counties after LCBS switched exlcusively to Almex A machines. Has the s & d been filed off the 6 & 9 type wheels?
