About Me
I am a retired journalist/editor who has worked on local and national newspapers and magazines in Scotland and England. It all started with a tinplate "bus conductor outfit" when I was about 6. In 1962, when working in Glasgow, I was responsible for a 10-page supplement to the Evening Citizen about the Glasgow Trams, to coincide with the Last Tram Procession. Glasgow Corporation Transport were so pleased that the gave me one of their T.I.M. machines which hey held in "reserve", having switched a few years earlier to Ultimate. I still have it, and have recently added a Setright which I am enjoying finding out about. I also have an ex-London Transport Bell Punch and a rack of tickets which I bought at a bus rally on Clapham Common in the 1970s.
