About Me
My interest in ticketing equipment started as a child, travelling on the "Llandudno & Colwyn Bay Electric Railway", and admiring the racks of variegated Williamson tickets, together with the intriguing punch. They then converted to Red Bus operation, having thrilling races with the Crosville Bristols( One closely fought race up the very steep Penrhyn Hill resulted in a Red Bus forcing a Crosville bus off the road, shearing off the studs on a green bus wheel!) Anyway,on closure, I was able to buy a service manual for a Setright and a Williamson punch (I turned down an actual Setright Mc, as being too pricey, and also said I didn't need the Williamson harness and holder, as being of no interest-Oh dear!) As a Design Engineer, I have been fascinated by the stories behind the makers of Fare Collection Equipment, and enjoy researching the patents covering their design. Thank goodness for human frailty, without which there would be no need for these artifacts! Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Please try again. 0 Comments |
